‘We Walk for Her’ shines light on unsolved cases of missing women, girls of color

CHICAGO (TOC) — A gaggle gathered Tuesday on Chicago’s South Facet to boost consciousness about deaths and disappearances of younger Black girls.

The mission of the march is to demand that police remedy these circumstances of lacking younger Black girls and ladies and to get a seat on the decision-making desk with each the town and state.

The march, “We Stroll For Her” kicks off from Bronzeville at thirty fifth Road and King Drive and finish at 51st Road and King Drive.

That is the fifth 12 months organizers have hosted the occasion. The aim: Demand metropolis and state leaders do extra to resolve what they’ve referred to as the “backlog of loss of life and disappearance” circumstances within the metropolis involving Black victims, who’re principally younger girls and ladies.

One of many marchers ABC7 spoke with mentioned her mom, Daisy was killed two years in the past, so Tuesday, she Walks for her.
