Teen arrested after allegedly stealing car with kids inside in East Garfield Park: Chicago police

CHICAGO (TOC) — A 13-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly stealing a car with kids inside Wednesday, in response to police.

Police stated a lady working for a meals supply service received out of her car within the 600-block of N. Christiana Avenue round 4:30 p.m. in East Garfield Park.

That is when the offender allegedly entered the car and struck the girl earlier than taking off with a 4-year-old and 7-year-old nonetheless inside, police stated.

A short while later, the teenager jumped out of the car whereas it was nonetheless in movement and ran off on foot, police stated. The car continued over a curb and struck a fence.

The offender was taken into custody and costs are pending, in response to police.

No accidents have been reported.
