Loyola University Chicago scholarship honors Mamie Till-Mobley, mother of Emmett Till, whose death played role in civil rights

CHICAGO (TOC) — A scholarship honoring Mamie Until-Mobley has been established at Loyola College Chicago.

She was the mom of Emmett Until, the Black teenager murdered whereas visiting household in Mississippi.

His killing performed a job within the civil rights motion.

Mamie Until-Mobley was a 1971 graduate of Loyola’s graduate faculty of schooling. The scholarship is sponsored by Loyola’s Black Alumni Board.
