Kamala Harris slammed over photo amid abortion protests

Vice President Kamala Harris is going through backlash after posting a “tone deaf” picture of her vowing to struggle for abortion rights — as she watched protection of the nationwide Roe v. Wade protests unfold from Air Pressure 2.

Harris posted the picture on her official Twitter web page Friday evening as activists took to the streets after the Supreme Court docket overturned the landmark abortion ruling.

“I do know there are ladies on the market who’re afraid. To these of you who really feel alone and scared: I need you to know the President and I are preventing for you and your rights. We’re on this struggle collectively,” the Veep tweeted.

The fallout was swift with many accusing Harris of being out-of-touch and others saying her message was the equal of “ideas and prayers” — the noncommittal message usually given by lawmakers within the wake of a mass taking pictures.
