Hate crime investigation: Thieves steal pride flags from homes, causing damage, Batavia police say

BATAVIA, Sick. (TOC) — 4 pleasure flags displayed on houses have been stolen in a single day Wednesday, inflicting harm, the Batavia Police Division stated.

Flag poles and mounts, which displayed the flags, have been damaged, Batavia police stated.

Two incidents occurred within the 500 block of Houston Avenue and one occurred within the 1200 block of Creek Lane, police stated. One other theft within the 600 block of Church Street occurred between 1:57 a.m. and a pair of:03 a.m.

Police are actively investigating these crimes and ask that everybody within the affected areas examine their video and safety cameras.
