Croatia bus crash kills at least 12, 31 injured

ZAGREB, Croatia — A Poland-registered bus carrying pilgrims to a shrine in Bosnia skidded from a freeway in northern Croatia early Saturday, killing a minimum of 12 individuals and injuring a number of others, police and officers stated.

Croatian police stated on Twitter that “within the skidding of a bus with Polish license plates, in response to preliminary data from the sphere, 11 individuals died and a number of other had been injured.” Officers stated yet one more passenger died later in a hospital and that the bus was carrying 43 individuals.

Croatia’s state HRT tv reported that about 30 individuals had been injured, many severely. It stated the most probably reason for the crash was the motive force falling asleep.

“This morning, I spoke concerning the particulars of the tragedy with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, who assured the complete help of Croatian medical providers,” Morawiecki stated on Fb. “I really helpful our consular providers to prepare a help group for the households of accident members.”

Croatian Inside Minister Davor Bozinic stated the bus originated from “a spot close to Warsaw” and that “in response to some data,” it was carrying pilgrims to Medjugorje.

The accident occurred at 5:40 a.m. native time some 30 miles north of Zagreb, on the A-4 freeway, which is busy in the course of the peak of the vacationer season.
