Chicago teen drowns in pond at Wisconsin campground

CHICAGO (TOC) — A Chicago teen died after going below the water in a swimming pond at a campground in Wisconsin Tuesday, authorities mentioned.

Authorities obtained an emergency name at about 5:42 p.m. from the Smokey Hole Campground in Lodi, Wisconsin, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned.

Deputies, Lodi Fireplace, and EMS responded to the scene and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Dive Crew was summoned.

About 50 minutes later, the teenager was positioned and faraway from the pond. The teenager was transported to a hospital, however didn’t survive.

The sheriff’s workplace mentioned, “Thanks to all the primary responders, residents, and the members of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Workplace Dive Crew for his or her efforts.

“Our ideas and prayers exit to the household.”
