Chicago couple marries 3 years after getting engaged in ICU following Stevens-Johnson Syndrome battle, coma

CHICAGO (TOC) — A Chicago couple have tied the knot after getting engaged within the ICU three years in the past.

Viktoria Cupay and her-then boyfriend Nick Baldo acquired married in August.

Three years in the past, in 2019, Cupay developed a uncommon pores and skin dysfunction known as Stevens-Johnson Syndrome which impacts the pores and skin and mucous membranes. Docs say it might have killed her.

Cupay was in intensive care and even in a coma. When she awoke, Baldo proposed within the ICU.

Cupay has since recovered from the illness, however remains to be dwelling with lupus. She shared the couple’s story on TikTok, and is now an advocate for folks with each circumstances.
