Chicago carjacking suspect charged after pursuit prompted Northwestern’s downtown campus lockdown

CHICAGO (TOC) — A carjacking suspect who police mentioned prompted a lockdown on Northwestern College’s Chicago campus has been charged.

Chicago police mentioned Trimane Kimbrough, 19, took a automobile at gunpoint Monday afternoon within the Rogers Park neighborhood.

After ditching the automobile on DuSable Lake Shore Drive, police mentioned Kimbrough ran onto the Northwestern College’s Streeterville campus, prompting an hour-long lockdown.

Kimbrough was then arrested within the basement of a faculty constructing, police mentioned. On Wednesday, police mentioned Kimbrough was charged with vehicular carjacking, aggravated illegal use of a weapon, possession of a stolen automobile together with a number of misdemeanor expenses.
