BNSF Metra train strikes pedestrian near Fairview station in Downers Grove; service currently suspended

DOWNERS GROVE, Ailing (TOC) — An outbound categorical Metra practice headed for Naperville struck an individual close to Downers Grove Thursday night.

Service has been suspended on the BNSF line after the incident close to the Fairview Avenue station, based on a Metra spokesperson.

In accordance with preliminary stories from the Downers Grove Police Division, a person was on the tracks between Principal and Washington streets in Downers Gove when he was struck.

The sufferer was pronounced useless on the scene. The mans identification has not but been launched.

Downers Grove and Metra Police are presently investigating the incident.

Service on the BNSF Line has resumed with delays. Examine Metra’s web site for additional updates and scheduling adjustments.

Metra’s BNSF line runs which runs from Union Station in Chicago to Aurora and different southwest suburbs.
