Authorities ID gunman shot, killed by off-duty officer at South Holland, IL family gathering

SOUTH HOLLAND, Sick. — Authorities launched the title Thursday of a gunman who was fatally shot final weekend by an off-duty Palos Hills officer at a park in South Holland.

Jeffrey Eugene Mason, 34, of Chicago, was shot and killed by the officer on July 16 when he started firing a gun at Maicach Park within the south suburb throughout a household gathering, in line with South Holland police and the Cook dinner County medical expert’s workplace.

The officer, who was additionally attending a household reunion within the park, started capturing after seeing Mason hearth a number of pictures following an earlier home dispute on the occasion, officers have stated.
