Art Institute Chicago lions temporarily removed for cleaning

CHICAGO (TOC) — The town eliminated the lion statues from the Michigan Avenue entrance of the Artwork Institute of Chicago Tuesday morning for normal cleansing and upkeep.

A crane loaded the bronze statues onto a flatbed truck, en path to town’s conservation companion, the place they’ll obtain a steam cleansing and a protecting wax coating.

Inbuilt 1893, the “nice protectors” require skilled care so as to protect their look.

The reinstallation date of the lion statues has not been introduced right now, however they’re anticipated to be again in a couple of month.
