CHICAGO — A highschool pupil died after being struck by an Amtrak practice Thursday on the Northwest Aspect, in line with the Chicago Fireplace Division.
Amtrak Hiawatha line practice 332, which was inbound from Milwaukee, struck the individual about 9:30 a.m. simply south of the Healy Metra cease close to Fullerton Avenue and Pulaski Highway, an Amtrak spokesperson mentioned.
The individual was pronounced useless on the scene, Metra officers mentioned.
The Fireplace Division, which responded to the scene, mentioned the sufferer was a highschool pupil. The coed’s identify hasn’t been launched.

About 100 passengers can be transferred to a different practice as crews examine, Amtrak mentioned. Nobody on the practice was harm.
Trains 333 and 336 have been canceled on account of the crash.
