17-year-old boy shot in Lawndale drive-by; 3rd Chicago teen shot in under 12 hours, CPD says

CHICAGO — A 17-year-old boy was shot Saturday morning in a drive-by in Lawndale on the West Facet – the third teen shot in Chicago in underneath 12 hours.

The teenager was strolling within the 4100 block of West fifth Avenue about 2:20 a.m. when somebody in a silver sedan opened hearth, putting him within the left leg, Chicago police mentioned.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in truthful situation, officers mentioned.

Nobody was in custody.

Hours earlier, one other 17-year-old boy was close to the sidewalk within the 6900 block of South Ada Road when somebody fired photographs, police mentioned.

He suffered gunshot wounds within the chest and armpit space, police mentioned. He was transported to the College of Chicago Medical Heart, the place he was pronounced useless.

A woman, 16, was in a house about 6:50 p.m. within the 4300 block of West Adams Road when somebody shot her within the head, police mentioned.
